Man. So I finished finals and got all my papers turned in last week. Some of my grades have come in already and I am pleased to say the I managed to pass everything. Normally that’s not my standard, but I had two classes that were really tough on me for different reasons.
The CS class on computer organization and processor design just about sucked the life out of me. I simply hate the material. I took it once before and had the same reaction. Somehow, I managed to squeek by this time - which is great because it was one of only 2 courses I have left for CSE.
The other class was tough because I was so disappointed in how it was handled. It was supposed to be a course on discrete optimization (Math 409). It ended up being the lamest review of graph theory ever. What really sucks is that it could have been a great course. The prof just emphasized the wrong stuff. Many people failed, apparently, and not because anything was hard. Just that the prof had kinda weird ideas as to what was important and how to test for comprehension. Prior to the midterm, I’d expected to fail. I manged to pull my grade up a full point by the end. Would have sucked otherwise, because I would have had to stay yet another quarter to make up the requirement.
My philosophy classes went well. I don’t know one grade, but I 4.0′d the other. I love philosophy.
